One of the toughest guys in hockey is lacing up his skates to show that he has a softer side by helping Score for the Cure as we raise funds to benefit JDRF. Every day with Type 1 Diabetes is a fight and few hockey players know more about how to fight than Frank "The Animal" Bialowas!

A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Frank Bialowas had an eleven year professional hockey career, most notably playing with the then Philadelphia (now Lehigh Valley) Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. Known primarily as an enforcer on the ice, Bialowas played left wing. He got a taste of NHL action with the Toronto Maple Leafs. During his stint with the Phantoms, Bialowas was a member of the 1998 Calder Cup championship team. In 2005, Frank was inducted into the Phantoms Hall of Fame.

Frank's appearance at Score for the Cure is generously sponsored by National Cooperative Bank (NCB).
