Score for the Cure is excited to announce that Owen McLaughlin has signed on to coach
one of our two youth teams during the event on Saturday, July 14 at Revolution Ice Gardens in Warminster, PA. McLaughlin, a talented 18-year forward from Spring City, Pennsylvania, was recently drafted by his hometown team, the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2021 NHL Draft.
McLaughlin will next play for Sioux City Musketeers in the USHL before attending Penn State University in 2022-23. The skilled center played for Mount St. Charles in Rhode Island this season where he amassed 54 points (16 goals, 38 assists) in 33 games. McLaughlin also laced them up for Valley Forge, The Hill School, and played in the Liberty Bell Games - which is legendary for its unparalleled significance in boy’s youth hockey. Sanctioned by USA Hockey, the Liberty Bell Games is recognized as the premier showcase for elite youth hockey players.
Score for the Cure is grateful for Coach McLaughlin volunteering his time to impart his knowledge and leadership on the next generation of young hockey players and extends our best wishes as he takes the next strides in his fledgling hockey career.
